No Monthly Fees

Unlike other telemetry systems, the Solinst STS charges no data hosting fees, no matter how much bandwidth you use. This allows you to control and anticipate your costs, keeping your projects on budget. The STS is a fully scalable telemetry system, delivering the same level of support whether your network includes 10 devices or a hundred. Best of all, the STS' modular construction makes it easy to swap out your existing modem for a new one, whether you change your service provider or upgrade to newer technology as it becomes available.

Network Options

Solinst Telemetry Systems offer three different communications options to suit a variety of applications:

• Cellular: A GSM or CDMA wireless network is the most common means of transmitting data from the STS device to a home station.
• Radio:Transmitting data over radio waves is free and requires no special hardware, though range may be limited, making this option most suitable for smaller networks.
• Satellite: Satellite transmission is available in remote areas and, like digital cellular, lets you transfer data using an internet connection.

Components

A standard Solinst telemetry system includes five core components:

• STS controller: The STS controller is used for the initial setup and testing of the STS device. It collects, stores and sends data to the home system.
• Distribution box: The distribution box manages the controller, power supply and the modem, and it routes data from attached Leveloggers to the controller.
• Reader cable: Levelogger reader cables connect up to four Leveloggers to the distribution box.
• Modem/antenna: The modem and antenna transmit data from the STS to the home system via your preferred communication network (radio, cellular or satellite).
• Battery: Standard STS battery is a lead-free 12 V good for up to a year of continuous operation. Optional power sources include AC and solar trickle charging.
