Solinst 601 Standpipe Piezometer

The Solinst 601 Standpipe Piezometer is suitable for deployment as a filtered inlet point in drilled holes, or into very loose sand or sediment at the base of a borehole, stream or tailings pond. Featuring pointed PVC tips, the 601 is ideal for metals sampling, water level monitoring and permeability measurements, as well as de-watering, drainage operations and construction control. A lower-cost alternative to the stainless steel 615, the 601 Standpipe Piezometer can be counted upon for high sample integrity thanks to a 60 micron Vyon filter that keeps sands, silt and other contaminants out.

Components

The Solinst 601 is comprised of a durable perforated PVC body which houses a preformed Vyon filter tube set capable of filtering out particles as small as 60 microns. The unit's tip is connected to the surface via a 3/4" PVC riser pipe. Slip-fit couplings provide a strong connection between the unit and its piping. Also available are reducer couplings that allow the 601 to be connected to other gauges of pipe or casing. The 601 also features butt heat welded seams that can be counted on for years of reliable use.

Sizes

For maximum functionality in a variety of field conditions, the Solinst 601 Standpipe Piezometer is available in a number of different tip sizes. Standard tip length is 12"; also available are 6", 2' and 3' models. Choosing the size that's right for you will depend on the nature of your application; deployment in deeper standpipes will require a longer tip length to ensure your sample is not corrupted. The Solinst 601 Standpipe Piezometer is intended to provide a more affordable alternative to drive-in piezometers for deployment in a borehole or other pre-drilled space.
