More Ways to Sample With the LAQUAtwin B-743

With the LAQUAtwin B-743, you have more ways than ever before to collect samples and obtain accurate nitrate readings. The 743’s advanced sensor technology – the product of Horiba’s over 60 years of research and development – makes it possible to obtain reliable data a sample as small as 0.05 mL. Here’s how:

• Drops: Simply place a drop of a sample 0.3 mL or larger directly onto the sensor to get a nearly instantaneous reading.
• Immersion: Open the sensor guard, and place the B-743 directly into a beaker filled with sample. Because the 743 is waterproof to IP-67 standards, you can immerse the unit in water without worrying about damaging it.
• Scoop: Obtain a sample directly from a groundwater source using the B-743 compact nitrate meter. If desired, a sensor guard can be used to scoop vertically instead of horizontally.
• Wipe: Use the available sample sheet to wipe trace amounts of moisture and obtain an accurate sample. The sampling sheet can be used for volumes as small as 0.05 mL.
• Solids, powders and papers: The 743 can be used to obtain readings from food and other solid samples containing some moisture. For sampling powders, papers, textiles or films, simply add a drop of pure water.

Applications

The Horiba B-743 LAQUAtwin can obtain readings within a range of 62 to 6200 ppm (NO3) and 14 to 1400 ppm (NO3-N), with an accuracy of +/-10% of reading value. Because of this, it makes an excellent general purpose compact nitrate meter for on-site measurement. Common applications include quality control in food production facilities, cultivation and growth management of crops and soil testing. Special nitrate sampling supplies are available for use with soil and crops.
