Solinst Model 101 Water Level Meter with the "New" P7 Laser Marked Tape
P/N 101 Water Level Meter - Laser
The NEW Solinst Model 101 Water Level Meter with P7 Probe features an extremely durable, laser marked PVDF flat tape, with an enhanced dog bone design that is thicker, reducing adherence to the side of well casing. This model offers the reliability and accuracy you expect from Solinst for measuring the depth of water in wells, boreholes and standpipes.
The PVDF flat tape is laser marked every 1/100 ft or each mm; lengths up to 6000 ft (1800 m). New flat tape has increased tensile strength and electrical efficiency by using 6 strands of copper coated stainless steel and 13 strands of stainless steel in each conductor. The P7 Water Level Meter Probe is engineered to allow submersion to 1000 ft. (300 m), replacing the 101 P6 Submersible Probe. Sensor at the tip of the probe provides consistently accurate measurements in wells, boreholes, and cascading water, with almost zero displacement.
Enhanced Laser Marked Tape Features:
- Durable PVDF non-stretch tape
- Improved electrical properties
- Thicker dog bone design prevents clinging to sides
of the well
- Permanently laser marked every 1/100 ft. or each mm
Operating Principles
The Model 101 Water Level Meter uses a choice of probe
designs, attached to a permanently marked PVDF
tape, fitted on a well-balanced reel. It is powered by a
standard 9 volt battery housed in an easy-access battery
drawer. The conductors embedded within the tape, each
have seven strands of stainless steel for strength and flexibility.
The probe incorporates an insulating gap between electrodes.
When contact is made with water, the circuit is completed,
activating a loud buzzer and a light. The water level is then
determined by taking a reading directly from the tape at the
top of the well casing or borehole.
A sensitivity control allows the buzzer to be turned off while
in cascading water, and ensures a clear signal in both high and
low conductivity conditions.
