New from Solinst, the 122M Mini Interface Meter is now available with the standard flat polyethylene tape or the new laser marked PVDF cable.  Both versions are priced the same but the new version offers an 80' length.

The New 122M Mini Interface Meter provides a great deal of added value, for no additional cost to our customers.  The new 122M Mini Interface Meter comes with a laser marked PVDF cable, which is tough and easy to decontaminate  The 122 P8 probe for the Solinst Interface Meter is now interchangeable between the new 122M Mini Interface Meter with laser marked PVDF cable and the standard 122 Interface Meter with PVDF flat tape.

Features

  • PVDF cable laser marked every 1/100 ft. or each mm
  • Length extended to 80 ft (25m) at no additional cost
  • Markings are certified traceable to national standards
  • Certified intrinsically safe for hazardous locations

Obtaining a Reading

The Solinst Mini Interface Meter operates on the same principles as its larger cousin. The unit uses infra-red refraction and electrical conductivity to test for water and phase liquids. When the probe is in contact with water, an electrical circuit will be completed, producing an intermittent light and tone. When in contact with a phase liquid, the optical sensor will produce a steady tone.

To measure the level of floating product (LNAPL) in a well, simply lower the probe until it sounds a steady tone. Take a measurement and continue lowering the device until the steady tone becomes intermittent, indicating the probe has touched water. By subtracting the larger measurement from the smaller, you’ll be able to determine the amount of LNAPL in the well.

Measuring for sinking phase liquids follows a similar procedure. Lower the probe into the well until the intermittent tone becomes steady. This will indicate the start of the DNAPL layer. Take a depth reading and continue to lower the probe until the tape becomes slack as the probe hits the bottom. Subtract the depth level the heavy phase layer began at from the total depth, and you’ll know the total amount of DNAPL in the well.

Suitable for Hazardous Location Use

The Solinst 122M Mini Interface Meter is certified intrinsically safe and suitable for deployment in hazardous locations. Approved for use in explosive environments by the Canadian Standards Association, the 122M can be operated in Class I, Groups C & D locations. A grounding strap ensures that the unit's electronics are protected at all times and that the device does not pose an explosion hazard in volatile environments.

Environmental Supply & Equipment proudly offers both standard and mini interface meters for sale to customers nationwide. As an authorized Solinst dealer, we provide repairs and warranty service on everything we sell.
