Since it was designed with this particular function in mind, the Solinst 103 Tag Line is a marked cable with a weight attached. This weight provides a simple and efficient way to measure how deep the bottom of the well reaches.

Weights
The weights on this environmental instrument feature a handy suspension system for multiple uses so that the weights can be clipped on and off easily.
This device features a laser-marked cable complete with a durable stainless steel wire line capable of holding weights up to 270 lbs. This sturdy cable is mounted on a self-supported reel that comes complete with a carrying handle, weight holder and brake. Laser markings are permanently bonded to the cable and remain in place indefinitely while maintaining a smooth cable. These markings are low-profile and are put in place every foot or every 5 feet.
