Peristaltic Pump Brochure

The Solinst Model 410 Peristaltic Pump is a lower cost rugged field peristaltic pump. The 410 is great for sampling shallow wells, surface water or vapor sampling. It can also be used for transferring liquids. This peristaltic pump provides exceptional flow control and maintains sample integrity. The Solinst 410 can be used with 5/8" or 3/8" tubing -- ask for the optional conversion kit to use 3/8" tubing. Available for purchase from Environmental Equipment & Supply, the 410 Peristaltic Pump is a robust performer designed to meet the needs of today's environmental technicians. If you would like to buy the Solinst 410 Peristaltic Pump please call 800-739-7706. We offer same day shipping.

Vacuum-Power Sampling

The Solinst 410 pumps roller press against the tubing to provide positive displacement -- the pump's motor powers a series of rollers which force air out of the tubing to create a vacuum. This draws liquids or gas into the tubing and can be reversed for pressurized delivery. The 410 is typically effective at depths up to 33 feet, though that number is affected by the elevation it is being operated at.

Designed for Easy Maintenance & Operation

The Solinst 410 pumps are water resistant and contain no vents, grates or other openings. This makes maintenance extremely easy and with a few precautions, the unit can be expected to provide years of trouble-free use. Samples come into contact only with the unit's tubing, which can be cleaned or replaced between each use to ensure the highest level of integrity.

With a one-button design, the Solinst 410 Peristaltic Pump is easy to use, even in difficult field conditions. Follow these steps for successful operation:

  • Install the silicon tubing in its place in the pump head and position clamps above the tubing inlet/outlet.
  • Connect one end of the tubing to a down hole sample line. Connect the other to a discharge tube or sample collector.
  • The Solinst 410 can be powered by any 12 V source, such as a car battery. To power up the unit, attach the black alligator clip to the negative terminal post on your power source. Then, attach the red clip to the positive.
  • Use the forward/reverse variable flow dial to control direction and flow rate.
  • The Solinst Peristaltic Pump is not intended for long term deployment. Allow the motor to rest and fully cool down after no more than 7-8 hours of continuous use.

Tubing

The 410 should be used with 5/8" medical-grade silicon tubing in the pump head. This can be attached to 1/2" or 1/4" down-hole tubing, which is also available from Solinst in lengths up to 500 feet. An optional conversion kit is required to use a smaller-diameter tube to achieve lower sampling rates.
