On Wednesday October 31st Environmental Equipment and Supply hosted demonstrations on two new Geoprobe soil sampling methods at our Harrisburg location. It is important you understand the new methods as we think you will have clients and regulators requesting the new methods in the not to distant future. It will also be a great selling point to add when telling customers why they should use the latest systems, giving you a competitive end. The new systems are called MC5 (5th generation of Macro Core Sampler) and DT22 or DT325, dual tube 2” and dual tube 3” respectively. You may download sales brochure below.
What’s in it for you?
The old commonly used macro sampling systems used an open sampler that is repeatedly returned down the open boring as you go deeper. The problem with that method is that residuals from the sides of the boring have the possibility of entering the sampler each time. So if you push the sampler from 8 to 12 feet you may get up to 2 feet of soil filling the sampler from above section of the boring until you reach the sampling depth. The new methods are closed system tooling so when your sample is from 8 to 12 feet and there is contamination at 10 feet, you are sure of its location. You can write that with confidence in your report. There is no additional cost for the equipment, although it may take the operator a little longer to do each boring. But as most of you know, 95% of the time the operator is considerably ahead of the person describing the soils and standing by waiting.
What’s in it for Environmental Equipment and Supply?
First, we have happier customers because of the quality sampling results. The new tooling is better design, and as you will see by the information each sampler is driven by two rods into the ground, greatly reducing wear and tear and saving us money.
Environmental Equipment and Supply will no longer be renting Geoprobes with the old Macro Core Systems. You may request either new system at the time on your quote or when placing your order.
